BioIn 1941, Vulcanologist Danette Reilly discovered she had the power to project and control flames, and joined President Roosevelt's All-Star Squadron shortly after encoutners with the villains Per Degaton and the Dragon King.
Although she allegedly died at the hands of the Dragon King in 1944, it turns out her death was faked as she took a post with a mysterious government created agency called "the circle," leaving behind her lover, the hero Shining Knight, and her adopted daughter.
After decades of undercover work, Reilly was attacked by mystic forces that sought to co-opt her powers to bring ruin to another dimension. In a moment of desperation, Dr. Fate infused her with the mystic flames consuming the dimension, returning her to youth and possibly increased power.
How she will return to a world she's largely remained outside of for 60 years is unknown.
